Welcome to Head & Neck Surgical Associates’ Audiology Program. We hope you find the following information helpful on your journey to improving your hearing and understanding. Remember …We listen so you can hear.
Our Audiology Program provides diagnostic audiological (hearing) evaluations, hearing aid systems, assistive listening devices, swim molds, hearing protection and counseling regarding your treatment options. We receive referrals from Primary Care Physicians, ENT physicians and satisfied patients.
Evaluation/HAE
You’ve had your hearing tested, the Physician and the Audiologist have recommended a hearing aid system and now you have an appointment for a hearing aid evaluation (HAE). Now what?
The Audiologists at Head & Neck Surgical Associates are here to help you through the process of understanding your hearing loss, evaluating your lifestyle and listening needs, selecting the most appropriate hearing aid system, customizing the fit and programming for you and guiding you through your readjustment to the world of sound.
Hearing Aid Services
Approximately 40 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss, and 90% of these cases can benefit from the use of hearing aids. Hearing instrument technology continues to improve dramatically, allowing wearers to communicate effectively in a variety of difficult listening situations. But even with more advanced hearing aid technology it will still take time for you to adjust to the sounds you hear.
At Head & Neck Surgical Associates, our Audiologists provide a wide selection of technologically advanced hearing instruments and assistive listening devices, along with the compassion, knowledge and expertise to help you through the selection, adjustment period and your continuing care to maintain your maximum hearing benefit.
We have 100% digital technology and open fit devices, from the most basic entry-level devices up to the latest technologically advanced devices and everything in between. All devices have a 1-3 year manufacturer repair, loss and damage warranty, depending on the level of technology chosen. All devices have a 30 day adjustment period that starts the day you are fit. This allows time to fine tune the programming of the devices, adjust the fit, provide counseling regarding adapting to sound in your environment and determine if you are receiving the maximum benefit. Full adaptation to hearing aids does not occur in 30 days. This time is to decide if you are receiving benefit and want to proceed further with your rehabilitation program. At the end of the 30 day adjustment period if the devices are not satisfactory, you can choose to try another model or return the devices for credit. Should you return the devices for credit the following charges will be deducted from your refund: a $150 non-refundable fitting fee and any earmold charges, if applicable.
All hearing aid systems are fit with the Complete Hearing Health Care (CHHC) service program. This service program is in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty, and offers the following professional services and benefits for up to 5 years:
- Hearing aid batteries at your Quarterly check ups
- Quarterly cleanings and adjustments
- Yearly hearing screenings
- Discounts on hearing aid cleaning products
Methods of payment include: cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Financing is available through CareCredit. Most insurance plans (including Medicare) do not subsidize the purchase of hearing aids. If your plan does, we will gladly process those claims for you if we are a participating provider.
